Autism Awareness Car Show Las Vegas

Post by Jack » Thu Sep 13, 2018 5:31 pm

Autism has no bounds, with 1 in every 59 children falling somewhere on the autism spectrum, many in the car community have family or friends who are affected by it. So when there is a car show to raise awareness, you see it brings out a little of everything.

When Nichol Zamora, Fleet Manager & Community Outreach Director at Peoples Autism Foundation, announced a car show to not only help raise awareness, but also gather the much needed supplies for the special education teachers and classrooms, I knew she would have a good turnout.

Of course, back to school in Las Vegas is late August and it is still hot as hell out, but that didn’t stop car owners from coming out to support the cause.

The family friendly event was held out at Centennial Park, so there was plenty of gran for the kids to play on, there was a water area (where I really wanted to go plop my butt in the middle of) and people even had some shade.

Vendors were out with tents set up, food trucks were there and even McGruff The Crime Dog showed up. I really felt sorry for him; it had to be hot as hell in that costume.

Here is the roll in for the show, as you can see, it had the Mopar kids, classic cars, lowriders, custom cars and more.

Of course I have to include McGruff in his Vegas Golden Knights sweater.
